Dear Interested Party,
Cookies are small text files sent from the website to the Interested Party’s terminal (usually the browser), where they are stored and then transmitted back to the site on the next visit by the same User. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the User’s hard drive, nor transmit computer viruses, or acquire email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the User’s web browser. Some of the functions of cookies can be delegated to other technologies. In this document, the term ‘cookie’ refers to both cookies themselves and all similar technologies.
Through cookies, it is possible to record information relating to preferences, such as the pages browsed or the download of files from the site, or other similar actions performed while browsing the site.
FIRST-PARTY OR THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
Cookies can be first-party or third-party:
- “First-Party” refers to cookies developed by the Website Owner.
- “Third-Party” refers to cookies developed by Third Parties with respect to the Website Owner.
NATURE OF COOKIES
Regarding the nature of cookies, there are different types:
Technical Cookies
Technical cookies are those used solely for the purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service” (cf. art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code). They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the Owner or manager of the website.
They can be subdivided into:
- Navigation or session cookies: These guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access reserved areas); they are in fact necessary for the proper functioning of the site.
- Analytics cookies: These are assimilated to technical cookies where they are used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself, in order to improve site performance.
- Functionality cookies: These allow the User to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, products selected for purchase, language, etc.) in order to improve the service provided to the User.
The User’s prior consent is not required for the installation of these cookies.
Profiling Cookies
Profiling cookies are aimed at creating profiles related to the User and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the User while browsing the network.
The Interested Party’s consent is required for the use of profiling cookies. According to provision n. 229 of May 8, 2014, the User must be able to authorize or deny consent to the installation of profiling cookies if they are present.
In the case of third-party cookies, the site does not have direct control over the individual cookies and cannot control them (it can neither install them directly nor delete them). The User can still manage these cookies through browser settings (follow the instructions below), or the sites indicated in the “Cookie Management” section. The User is therefore invited to check the relative cookie policies on the Third Parties’ websites.

COOKIE DURATION
Cookies have a duration dictated by the expiration date (or a specific action such as closing the browser) set at the time of installation.
Cookies can be:
- Temporary or session cookies (“session cookie”): They are used to store temporary information, allow linking the actions performed during a specific session, and are removed from the computer when the browser is closed.
- Permanent cookies (“persistent cookie”): They are used to store information, such as the login name and password, to prevent the user from having to enter them again every time they visit a specific site. These remain stored on the computer even after closing the browser.
The so-called session cookies are not retained once the connection to this website is terminated. The computer systems used for this site use temporary and permanent cookies.
COOKIE MANAGEMENT
Users can disable cookies on websites by downloading specific software such as Ghostery (https://www.ghostery.com) for their browser and disabling the use of individual cookies.
Alternatively, they can activate the “anonymous browsing” mode – this is a function that allows browsing without leaving a trace of browsing data in the browser. This function only allows browsing data not to be retained in the browser.
As another alternative, they can disable/delete cookies by accessing the configuration panel of their browser.
ACCEPTANCE AND WAIVER OF COOKIES
By continuing to browse this site, closing the information banner, clicking on any part of the page, or scrolling it to highlight further content, you accept the Cookie Policy and cookies will be set and collected.
In case of non-acceptance of cookies by abandoning the navigation, any cookies already locally registered in your browser will remain registered there but will no longer be read or used by us until a subsequent, eventual acceptance of the policy. Users will always have the possibility to remove these cookies at any time through the aforementioned methods.
